It’s not that we’re not patriotic here at Night and Day PA, but the London Olympics are definitely affecting business.
It cannot be said that we have noticed a difference with our clients however, simply as an employer. For example, the Olympic torch passes through our local village tomorrow, meaning more than half of our daytime team either need to leave their village 1.5 hours earlier than normal or be late for work. Due to the nature of our business, lateness is simply not an option as it would be to the detriment of our clients, and therefore they find themselves in the predicament of having to “extend” their day just to avoid being stuck in the village when the torch is nearby.
Being in East Yorkshire, it may perhaps be that this is indeed the only time that we are actually directly affected by the Olympics, yet still one can’t help but feel a little frustrated.
